The Key in the summer of ’69
I’ve uncovered a gold mine of KB pictures. Back in ’68 and ’69 LIFE magazine came to the key to document Richard Nixon’s vacation spot. In case you weren’t aware, Richard Nixon had a vacation house on Bay Lane for many years, and when he got here Key Biscayne was Nixon crazy.

It’s sad the key wasn’t perserved better

It is sad the key wasn’t preserved better. I know nothing stays the same, but the number one priority now should be preserving what’s left of the key and having the courage, vision and values to greatly limit any further development. Right now the council just gives lip service saying they want to limit development and density.

Thats because our council is corrupted with a bunch of real estate agents, and the mayor works for the biggest real estate agency on the key. Only profits them to change all the zoning laws and turn the key into a giant floating CONDO. Real estate agents SHOULD not be allowed to be on the council. ITS PATHETIC we allowed that to happen.
