Welcome Islander Readers

Rat Radio has had the privilege of being in the Islander News this week. In case you’re reading this site for the first time because of said article, I welcome you to explore all that is Rat Radio.

I should also clarify some points made in the article. For one, the RatRadio.Net and the actual Rat Radio Free Radio Key Biscayne actually launched simultaneously. I didn’t stop the radio to do the site, as may be implied in the article.

Also, at the end of the article it mentions that I recieve about 1,000 hits a day. That’s correct, but then it quotes me as saying, “To make any real money, you need at least 2,000 hits a day.” If only it were that easy! What I actually said is that you need 200,000 hits a day, which is much harder to attain considering 12,000 people live in Key Biscayne.

All in all, though, it’s nice to get some publicity. If you’re reading this and think you’d like to write articles about the happenings and interests of Key Biscayners for little more compensation than internet fame, drop me a line at rafa@ratradio.net.

There’s really nothing more disheartening than having the gallery crap out because your webhost is a piece of shit.

This is why there’s no updates

Apart from the lack of news worthy to post, the real reason there’s not been an update in the better half of one week is because I’ve had to drive this beautiful Ferrari F430 around the track all day…

It’s also the reason there’s no pictures of the weekend. No worries, I’m weaning myself off starting today.

Rat Radio’s many authors

I know that this site can sometimes seem like my own personal site; I do post the majority of the stories, and a lot of things that only make sense to people who know me and my friends. Despite that, there are some more authors on Rat Radio, and it’s only fair that they get the credit they deserve.

Make sure you check who posted. For example, that story about “barter whoring” was written by Alex305, aka Alex Fumero. Sure, you may not give a shit, but the point is that it wasn’t me.

Likewise, my brother writes the movie reviews, and now my boy Lou Restrepo is going to come back and write some more stories.

Just a heads up.

Why you should comment

The site has just got back on its feet, and while everything isn’t moving at 100% speed, there is a certain thing that you, as a reader, can do to make it that much more interesting. You should try commenting.

When you comment, regardless of what you say, it makes the site a little more compelling. People who read the stories can see what others, like yourself, have to say. Or maybe you don’t want to comment on the story, but you want to call attention to something else. That’s fine too. The best part about commenting, though, is that the next time you visit the site, you can look forward to a reply to your comment (as long as it’s opinionated enough to solicit a response).

Another great aspect about the comments is that all new comments are posted on the sidebar right on every page, so people can see just what everyone is talking about, and maybe garner some more comments.

Bottom line, you have something to say, so just say it. Make up a little internet name, like Mandingo or something, and just use it every time. There’s no need to register, just put your name and an email (it can even be a fake email! it won’t ever be shown), and write what’s on your mind.

Yea…it’s back

So about that “never coming back” thing. Maybe that was a little much.

Here’s some things to note:

• I’m having trouble getting all the old pics back up with this site, and some of the albums right now don’t have thumbnails (but the pictures work). Still, I never got rid of the old site so you can still see the gallery.
• You can also view the entire old site, but any posting is disabled, here.

There’s still some tweaking to do but hopefully this site can satisfy those of you who wanted something to read.

Site’s back up…sort of

Ah, last day of January. Here’s the new site, except it’s not done. Also, I’m not living in Miami right now so I don’t really know what will be here. Oh, and most of the pictures aren’t back up yet either.
